*** Pre-requisites to use this theme
Theme requires following plugins. Not mandatory if you don’t like to use it. However, if you are not installing these plugins you will not enjoy all the features of the theme. So, yes go ahead and download the following plugins.

Download the plugins and upload it to your plugins folder and activate them via wordpress admin panel.
*** Installing WordPress Themes
1. Access your Web server using an FTP client or Web server administration tools.
2. Create a folder for your specific theme under “wp-content/themes” folder within WordPress installation. For example:
3. Copy or upload theme files into the newly created
4. Login to your WordPress administration panel and select Design -> Themes.
5. In the ‘Available Themes’ section click on your theme title or screenshot, then click the ‘Activate Theme’ link to activate it.

*** Updating Options Page
Please refer the screenshot:
Select Appearance > WP New Mag options
Login Panel settings:
a. Please Enter Login Panel Heading Text.
b. Login Panel Profile image URL
c. Login Panel Text Para
Feedburner Settings:
a. Enter your Feedburner ID.
Featured Category Settings:
Posts from Two categories can be featured on homepage. you can select the categories under this section. Also do not forgot to specify the title for featured categories section (this will be reflected in your homepage). Also select how many posts your would like to see under each category on homepage.
a. Select the featured Category 1 from the list
b. Enter Appropriate Featured Category 1 Title
c. Enter Number of items in Featured Category 1
d. Select the featured Category 2 from the list
e. Enter Appropriate Featured Category 2 Title
f. Enter Number of items in Featured Category 2
Featured Video Settings:
In this section you can specify the embededed video code. The video will be displayed on sidebar. Modify the width to 315 and height to 236.
a. Enter the Featured Video Code
468×60 Homepage Banner Ad Settings:
In this section you need to enter your adsense or other ad network code or affiliate ad/banner code. This will be displayed on theme header. (sitewide)
a. Enter the 468×60 Banner Ad
468×60 innerpage Banner Ad Settings:
You can specify ads (google ad/affiliate ad/banner) on this section. The ad will be displayed on 468×60 innerpages below Title of the each post. (only on innerpages)
a. Enter the 468×60 Banner Ad code
300×250 Sidebar Banner Ad Settings:
You can specify ads (google ad/affiliate ad/banner) on this section. The ad will be displayed on 300×250 Right Sidebar. (sitewide)
a. Enter the 300×250 Banner Ad code
Google Analytics Settings:
You need to enter the Google Analytics tracking code. The code you specify here will be added to footer section.
a. Enter the Google Analytics Code
Once you entered all above details, click on Save changes.
*** Adding Thumbnail images on posts
You need to resize the image to respective size and add a custom field “thumb” with value as image url in your post.
For example:
*** Updating Plugins Options Page
* Featured Content Gallery Configuration
Settings -> Featured Content Gallery
Please refer the featured content gallery settions options below. You can either specify the category to list the posts from that categoryin featured section or specify the selected post Ids as mentioned in the below screenshot:
* WP125
Ads -> Settings
a. Specify the “Ad Orientation” as Two Column.
b. Specify “Number of Ad Slots” as 6.
c. Specify “Ad Order” as Normal or Random as you wish.
Leave the rest of the settings on this Ads -> Settings as it is. And Click Save Changes.
Please refer the screenshot:
Ads -> Add/Edit
Enter Name, Slot number, Target URL, Expiration, Click Tracking, Ad Image as required. And Click Save Changes.

Do the above steps to create 6 ad slots.
You can view the list of ad slots you have added in Ads -> Manage and you can edit from there if you wish to.
* WP-Ratings
Ratings -> Ratings Options
Modify the options as you wish to like Rating image, Who Is Allowed To Rate?, Ratings Logging Method, etc.
* flickrRSS
Settings -> flickrRSS
Set the options like how many photos you wish to show, cache settings like whether you need to enable cache, etc. as you wish to.

Settings -> Pagenavi
Please refer the below screenshot to set the required options in pagenavi options page and click on save changes.
* WP-Cumulus
Please refer the below screenshot to set the required options in pagenavi options page and click on save changes.
*** Installing additional language support
To include a different or additional language support in your Worpdress theme
please find and copy the desired language files into your specific WordPress theme folder.
You can find the additional language files in your default theme folder “
or on the WordPress Website at http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Localization
To select a different language than your current WordPress language,
change the “define” function in the wp-config.php file, for example:
define(‘WPLANG’, ‘de_DE’)
*** Editing translations
To edit translations for your language please download and install
Codestyling Localization plug-in from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/codestyling-localization/
Then in WordPress administration select Manage -> Localization.

It is clearly mentioned above with necessary screenshots. you need to install and activate a plugin wp-125. once it is done there is an options page for that plugin, where you can add 125×125 ads. please see above for necessary screenshots.

You need to do couple of things. you need to add custom field “thumb” and with value as image url. and you need limit-post plugin.
Please read the installation instructions once again fully and install all necessary plugins and activate them.

I’m having trouble with the gallery images and the thumb nail images on the home page. I tried to take a look at the feature gallery screenshot but the url resulted in error message.

The theme is lovely and works flawlessly.
Where is the third sidebar displayed? When I add widgets to it, it does not display. Is it disabled?
How can I hide a category from the main menu only?
Is there anywhere by default that pages are listed or do I have to use the default WP Widget?
How do I change the links at the bottom? (Contact Us | Terms of Use | Trademarks | Privacy Statement)
By default, popular posts uses wp.png as a post icon. How do I change the default? How do I change the icon in posts?

Yes. third sidebar is not available. we are supposed to remove it from the theme. we forgot.
The pages are listed in sidebar.
To change the links at the bottom? (Contact Us | Terms of Use | Trademarks | Privacy Statement) you need to edit footer.php
There is no direct option to change the wp.png file. open the theme files in text editor and do find and replace.

The pages are not listing in the sidebar unless I use the widget. Should it display without the widget?
The POPULAR posts are not pulling correctly. Although the titles link to the correct article. The preview text -> Read More all points to the same article. What is the PHP file associated with this block?
footer.php is encoded in 64. Is there a decoded version?
You forgot to mention if there is a way to hide a category from the main menu.

Reg. Popular posts: we have fixed the issue now. Please redownload the zip file from http://www.wpspider.com/free-blog-theme-wp_009/. Thanks for letting us know.
Reg. footer.php: From where you downloaded the theme. if you downloaded the theme from this site footer.php is not encoded.
Reg. hide a category: The theme doesn’t comes with that option.

I tried to look to see if I could figure it out on my own but I could not. I even tried moving the code for popular posts from sidebar.php to index.php and it still displays incorrectly. Here is a screenshot of the problem: http://yfrog.com/06image1buij

Ok I got it to work. I copied the POPULAR POSTS code from the functions.php file in WP_009 to WP_New_Mag and copied the functions for get_thumb and catch_that_image – voila~! It’s alive!

I have a question – where can I change the number of posts that show on the Recent Entries main block? I checked in the index.php file but I couldn’t find a place to actually input a number of my own.

Is there any way to somehow dynamically change popular posts, for example, give them expiration time ?
I looked at code and i saw it’s getting posts with SQL statement with number of comments. That’s not so good in my opinion because some posts could get 50 comments, and others could never reach that number so this list is only “actual” for a short time…

Hello, I liked enough to the subject, but on installation and post intruducir not appear on the first page appears as only a summary of recent posts.
as is done to display the full post on the home page and not only summarize the summary.
