*** Pre-requisites to use this theme
Theme requires following plugins. If you are not installing these plugins you will not enjoy all the features of the theme. So, yes go ahead and download the following plugins.

WP_009 Plugins (552)
Download the plugins and upload it to your plugins folder and activate them via wordpress admin panel. Make sure your old plugins (if you have any) are not conflicting with these plugins.
*** Installing WordPress Themes
1. Access your Web server using an FTP client or Web server administration tools.
2. Create a folder for your specific theme under “wp-content/themes” folder within WordPress installation. For example:
3. Copy or upload theme files into the newly created
4. Login to your WordPress administration panel and select Design -> Themes.
5. In the ‘Available Themes’ section click on your theme title or screenshot, then click the ‘Activate Theme’ link to activate it.

*** Updating Options Page
Please refer the screenshot:
Select Appearance > WP_009 options
Feedburner Settings:
a. Enter your Feedburner ID.
Featured Category Settings:
Posts from Two categories can be featured on homepage. you can select the categories under this section. Also do not forgot to specify the title for featured categories section (this will be reflected in your homepage). Also select how many posts your would like to see under each category on homepage.
a. Select the featured Category 1 from the list
b. Enter Appropriate Featured Category 1 Title
c. Enter Number of items in Featured Category 1
d. Select the featured Category 2 from the list
e. Enter Appropriate Featured Category 2 Title
f. Enter Number of items in Featured Category 2
g. Disable Featured Category Block: If you check this option featured Category Block will be removed from homepage.
Featured Video Settings:
In this section you can specify the embededed video code. The video will be displayed on sidebar. Modify the width to 375 and height to 280.
a. Enter the Featured Video Code (complete embed code not just url or id)
b. Disable Featured Video Widget: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the featured video widget on sidebar.
468×60 Homepage Banner Ad Settings:
In this section you need to enter your adsense or other ad network code or affiliate ad/banner code. This will be displayed on theme header. (sitewide)
a. Enter the 468×60 Banner Ad
b. Disable 468×60 header Banner Ad: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the 468×60 header Banner Ad.
468×60 Homepage Banner Ad 2 Settings (under featured posts):
In this section you need to enter your adsense or other ad network code or affiliate ad/banner code. This will be displayed on theme under featured posts (only on home page).
a. Enter the 468×60 Banner Ad
b. Disable 468×60 home page Ad: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the 468×60 home page Ad (under featured posts).
468×60 innerpage Banner Ad Settings:
You can specify ads (google ad/affiliate ad/banner) on this section. The ad will be displayed on 468×60 innerpages below Title of the each post. (only on innerpages)
a. Enter the 468×60 Banner Ad code
b. Disable 468×60 innerpage Banner Ad: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the 468×60 innerpage Banner Ad.
300×250 Sidebar Banner Ad Settings:
You can specify ads (google ad/affiliate ad/banner) on this section. The ad will be displayed on 300×250 Right Sidebar. (sitewide)
a. Enter the 300×250 Banner Ad code
Disable 300×250 Sidebar Banner Ad: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the 300×250 Sidebar Banner Ad.
Flickr RSS Settings:
You can Enable/Disable flickr RSS widget here. Rest of the settings you can configure on plugins options page.
a. Disable Flickr RSS Widget: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the Flickr RSS Widget.
125×125 Ads Settings:
You can Enable/Disable 125×125 Ads here. Rest of the settings you can configure on plugins options page.
a. Disable 125×125 Ads: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the 125×125 Ads.
Featured Content Gallery Settings:
You can Enable/Disable Featured Content Gallery here. Rest of the settings you can configure on plugins options page.
a. Disable Featured Content Gallery: Check this box if you would like to DISABLE the Featured Content Gallery.
Google Analytics Settings:
You need to enter the Google Analytics tracking code. The code you specify here will be added to footer section.
a. Enter the Google Analytics Code
Once you entered all above details, click on Save changes.
*** Adding Thumbnail images on posts
You need to resize the image to respective size and add a custom field “thumb” with value as image url in your post.
For example:
*** Updating Plugins Options Page
* Featured Content Gallery Configuration
Settings -> Featured Content Gallery
Please refer the featured content gallery settions options below. You can either specify the category to list the posts from that categoryin featured section or specify the selected post Ids as mentioned in the below screenshot:
Adding ArticleImg custom field for Featured Custom Gallery:
You need to resize the image to respective size and add a custom field “articleimg” with value as image url.
For example:
* WP125
Ads -> Settings
a. Specify the “Ad Orientation” as Two Column.
b. Specify “Number of Ad Slots” as 6.
c. Specify “Ad Order” as Normal or Random as you wish.
Leave the rest of the settings on this Ads -> Settings as it is. And Click Save Changes.
Please refer the screenshot:
Ads -> Add/Edit
Enter Name, Slot number, Target URL, Expiration, Click Tracking, Ad Image as required. And Click Save Changes.

Do the above steps to create 6 ad slots.
You can view the list of ad slots you have added in Ads -> Manage and you can edit from there if you wish to.

Set the options as shown below or as you wish:

Settings -> flickrRSS
Set the options like how many photos you wish to show, cache settings like whether you need to enable cache, etc. as you wish to.

Set the options as shown below:

Settings -> Pagenavi
Please refer the below screenshot to set the required options in pagenavi options page and click on save changes.

*** Installing additional language support
To include a different or additional language support in your Worpdress theme
please find and copy the desired language files into your specific WordPress theme folder.
You can find the additional language files in your default theme folder “
or on the WordPress Website at http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Localization
To select a different language than your current WordPress language,
change the “define” function in the wp-config.php file, for example:
define(‘WPLANG’, ‘de_DE’)
*** Editing translations
To edit translations for your language please download and install
Codestyling Localization plug-in from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/codestyling-localization/
Then in WordPress administration select Manage -> Localization.

1. How do I place a logo at the top? Width-100%, height: 120?
2. The “Hot Tops” section is using the same thumbnail for all posts.
3. The 300 x 250 ad and one of the 486 x 60 ads are not centered.

There’s no control of the sidebar.
You have widgets in it I want to get out and the ones I want to put in, don’t fit.
Also, the ad placement plugin, “ad-minister” places its own widgets in the widget line-up, but they’re not showing up.
This theme is worthless if I can’t control my own side bar.
I don’t want archives, category, etc there.

if you want to replace the existing widgets you can do so from your WP admin panel. Appearance > Widgets.

None of the default sidebar widgets appear on the widget page. Besides editing the template there’s no way of getting rid of them I can see.

By default, it won’t show the widgets used in themes. It will list only the widgets you added. if you add a new widget in Appearance > widgets, it will replace the widgets used in theme.

You just needs to replace the theme files. I think the changes are made on functions.php and sidebar.php. Download the zip file and try replacing these two files and see whether it works. Let me know the status.

i’m having simmilar problem with the hot topics, and i tried to replace the sidebar.php and function.php, but no effect, the thumbnial and alternate text when you hover still displays an error. Thx this is actually a very good theme :)

My problem: On the main page, end is search results, category lists i get only the title and the thumbnail of the post, there is no content of the text, and no more/read more option.

Why can I not read the instructions on this page?
I can see the header, the sidebar and the comments but beetween, there is only a very big white space…

I have installed the WP_009 theme and plugins and it works quit gut. I have only one pb :

Checkout the readme.txt file in the zip file you downloaded. You haven’t included all required plugins. Thats why you are getting errors. Please download all required plugins from this page (or refer readme.txt) and install and activate them. let us know if you find any more issues. Thanks :)

1. I am having the same problem as some of the other posts listed above. I have not be able to center the 300×250 block. I have done what you have stated to place the center div before the code. (Your Google code here) but it still stays on the left.
2. I want to change the header. Please give me the dimensions.

Please read the installation guide completely and set the required settings via options page. Either you haven’t set the required options for featured categories or you have selected the same category for both.

I am sorry. I am not sure what you are trying to say. what is not showing ? Don’t you have other categories other than default “uncategorized” category ? You must have at least couple of categories which you can specify in options page.
In the WP_009 theme option –> Featured Category Settings menu –> Featured Category 1:
It show only “select catagory” It do not have other catagory to show but I have many catagory you can see in my site http://www.siammall.com. so I think maybe my theme have some error. So I would like to know may I re-install theme again to fix it? but I modify something already like langauge or remove tag cloud

After a small research I found that it is a bug in WP 2.8. Ref: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/280256
I have also tested with WP 2.7.1 and it works fine. So, we need to upgrade once v2.8.1 is released. :)

either you need to downgrade to WP 2.7.1 or upgrade to WP 2.8.1 beta version
Hi Merlin, great theme. I have upgraded to WP 2.8 and it appears that I’m having the same problem as Aviance. The categories do not show up in the Featured Category 1 and 2 dropdown list. Is it fixed in the WP 2.8.1? If not how do you downgrade to WP2.7.1?

Yes. It is fixed in WP 2.8.1 beta. You can upgrade to WP 2.8.1 beta version.

One more thing, when I turned on the Featured Content Categories, the same posts appear in both although they are only associated with one category each.

Just trying to figure out how to sort out the footer at the bottom of the page. There doesn’t seem to be an option to edit your contact information of privacy info. I have seen someone’s on here who’s contact link goes to a contact form.

Don’t see anywhere to change those options. Have looked everywhere I can see most of he people here using this theme are having the same problem. When you click any of the links in the footer it just goes back to the top of the page. I have also looked in the code editor to see if I could edit the code to contain the links but it doesn’t have anywhere do to that. Hope I can get it sorted. Absolutely love this theme.

Have had a look at footer.php and can’t make heads or tales of it…It doesn’t seem to be in the same code as everything else. Is it perhaps a plugin I need?

from where you downloaded the theme files ? try downloading from this site and edit the contact and privacy policy links.

This is a snip-it from the footer.php no place to edit the code of the links at the bottom tried re dl the files and it was still the same. looks like it has been recoded by something. Have no idea where to start. Still Fairly new to all this.

Got the new file. Replaced it in editor now it has ghosted the words google analystics on the background..as well as I can’t see where to put a link in

Im having several troubles with the theme:
1º- The Hot Topics Panel Show me the same thumbnail for every topic that is showed.
2.- The Categories Panel I selected Category 1 and Category 2 and it’s ok, but when it show the related post of both categories it show me onlye the title and not part of the text of the entry, how is showed in the Demo of the theme.
3- And the last thing is in the RECENT ARTICLE, it shows only the title of the post and not part of the text of the entry, and the thumbnail is almost over the title text.
I’ve downloaded this theme the 08/11, i mean yesterday, and i installed all the plugins and i set up all what the readme files says.
PLIZ HELP ME
